Radiation equipment testing in Victoria

The radiation at of 2005 states that all prescribed radiation sources such as x-ray machines must be issued with a certificate of compliance and Radtest we are registered by the Department of Health as approved testers and can provide periodic testing certificates against the radiation safety standards for the following

• Plain Film Radiographic X-ray Equipment
• Fluoroscopic X-ray Equipment
• Computed Tomography Scanners
• Mammography X-ray Equipment

Compliance is designed to set safety standards to not only give optimal image quality but to also insure minimum necessary dose to the patient. The periods between tests vary from machine to machine, Computed Tomography Scanners and Mammography X-ray Equipment certification is only valid for one year whereas Plain Film Radiographic X-ray Equipment and Fluoroscopic X-ray Equipment need to be checked every two years.

Certificates of compliance can only be issued by companies who have valid testers approval by the Department of Health and we have the necessary qualifications and experience in assessing if you’re x-ray machines comply with the relevant radiation safety standards governed by the radiation act of 2005
